Today I'm reviewing the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette.
This palette has been getting a ton of hype since it was first released. To be honest, upon first glance it didn't interest me at all. But after swatching it in store and being bombarded with the amazing reviews, I knew I had to get it! Thankfully, my awesome friend Tanya (from Leopard Lace & Cheesecake) generously gifted it to me for my birthday! :)
This palette has 14 shadows including mattes and shimmers and it has an overall berry look to it. I know that seems very odd for eyeshadows, but trust me, it works!
|L-R: Tempera, Golden Ochre, Vermeer, Buon Fresco, Antique Bronze, Love Letter, Cyprus Umber|
|L-R: Raw Sienna, Burnt Orange, Primavera, Red Ochre, Venetian Red, Warm Taupe, Reagar|
I have a couple of other ABH eyeshadow palettes and I do really like them, but this one is on a whole other level. The quality of these shadows is up there amongst the best I've tried. They are soft, extremely pigmented, easily blendable, but they don't blend into mudiness.
You can create neutral day looks with this palette as well as dramatic evening looks. There are so many wonderful transition and crease shades like Raw Sieena, Burnt Orange, and Realgar. I absolutely love Vermeer and Primavera on the lid. The more berry shades are beautiful outer V colors. Here is a maroon inspired look I created for a night out. It's probably my favorite eye look I've ever done (also in my Instagram).
Lids - Vermeer, Primavera
Transition - Raw Sienna, Burnt Orange
Outer V - Venetian Red
I honestly think that the Anastasia Beverly Hills Eyeshadow Palette is a must-have if you're an eyeshadow lover! Thankfully it's a permanent item so you can get it anytime. It retails for $42 and can be purchased at Ulta and Sephora.
Do you have this palette yet??
