I purchased some the night they were released online. I got 5 shades, Trap, Solow, Bumble, Tulle, and Drive-In.
Trap is a grayish/beige type of color that seems to be becoming really popular right now.
Solow is a nude pink.
Bumble is described as a warm terracota.
Tulle is a brownish/burgundy color.
Drive-In is a bright magenta.
These liquid lipsticks dry super quickly and they are true to their name, they are ultra ultra matte! Below are swatches of my lips with each shade.
You know I always keep it real here on The Beauty Isle. So let's get onto my very honest thoughts on these liquid lipsticks.
I own a few other brands of liquid lipsticks and they are not as dry on my lips as these ColourPop Liquid Lipsticks. As you can see in the above lip swatches, they are insanely drying and really accentuate the lines in my lips. They are the driest products I've ever put on my lips. Once they dry completely I feel the need to lick my lips just to bring some moisture back.
I really like Bumble, Tulle, and I LOVE Drive-In. I found that the lighter shades, Trap and Solow look the worst on my lips shade-wise and they look the least flattering and dry.
As far as wear time goes, they are just as good as my higher end liquid lipsticks. All the shades look a lot better with a gloss on top but of course the addition of gloss makes them not last as long. I've also worn a lip balm or my Murad lip primer under these and it makes them a lot easier to wear and more flattering, but again, the wear-time decreases.
You can purchase the ColourPop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks for $6 each on the ColourPop site. They are sold out right now but word on the street is that they will be back in stock in August. My honest recommendation is that since the lighter shades aren't very flattering, stick with the darker and brighter shades. I would say that if you really want to try these and if you are purchasing some of their amazing eye shadows, throw 1 or 2 of these in your cart and see if you like them. Don't buy a ton of them all at once! As far as I know these are not limited edition so you'll be able to purchase more later if you find that you like them.
