Frugal Friday - Revlon Color Burst Lip Butter - Review

Welcome to another edition of Frugal Friday!  Today I'll be featuring the Revlon Color Burst Lip Butters.  These were hugely popular towards the end of last year which is when I bought mine.  Since I've had them for so long I was actually really surprised that I hadn't talked about them yet on the blog.

These Revlon Lip Butters are lips balms that provide a nice wash of color.

Revlon Lip Butter - L-R: Peach Parfait, Berry Smoothie, Sweet Tart

From the Ulta site: Color Burst Lip Butter by Revlon is a buttery balm with beautiful shiny color to give you baby soft, healthy glowing lips 94% of women felt lips were softer, smoother, and instantly hydrated.

  • Hydrating mango, shea and coconut butter formula boosts lip moisture by 156%
  • Pampering gel formula provides super charged hydration and glides on lips buttery smooth
  • Sheer to medium color with buttery shine

  • I agree with the claims that this is a buttery balm.  I have the shades Peach Parfait, Berry Smoothie, and Sweet Tart.

Peach Parfait is a very light pink on my lips.  I like that it's light and subtle, but not nude.  Berry Smoothie is my favorite of the three.  It's a rosey mauve which looks good with my coloring.  It's like a "my lips but better" type shade.  Sweet Tart actually has quite a bit of pigmentation for a balm.  It's a bright pink and can be vibrant or subtle depending on how many layer you apply.

I love the Revlon Color Burst Lip Butters!  They are so soft on the lips and perfect if you don't want a plain lip balm.  They are easy to apply on the go because the color is so subtle that you can apply them without a mirror and not look like the Joker.  The color fades evenly and subtly so you don't have to keep checking on your lips while your eating or having a drink.

These balms retail for around $8 and can be found in drugstores, Target, Ulta, or anywhere that Revlon is sold.

Have you tried the Revlon Lip Butters?  Which shade is your fave?
