NOTD - Revlon Elusive

I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend!

Today I'm going to talk about Revlon Elusive nail polish which I found at Target a few weeks ago on clearance for $1.99.

In the bottle it's a black polish with blue and green sparkles, it looks like it could be quite gorgeous!

I'm afraid to report that this polish is just OK.  The first layer is a disaster.  It's gray, streaky, and just really ugly.  What I thought was green sparkles is really just green specks (flecks? not sure what they're called).  The second layer is slightly better but this polish definitely needs 3 thick layers.  Oh, and nowhere on the bottle does it say that it dries matte!  I really really don't like matte polishes.  I tried to add a top coat and it was slightly better.  Here's the result.

I do think that if it was shinier it would be really pretty but even with a top coat it still looks kind of dull.  Overall I'd say this polish is pretty but I wouldn't re-purchase, even for $1.99.

Have a great rest of the weekend everyone!

  1. I think I agree with you - kind of an odd color.

  2. I'm not a fan of matte finishes on nail polish either. That being said, I give you props for the self-mani; you did a better job than I ever could :)

Hope you're having a great weekend--stopping in from SITS Sharefest!

    1. Oh, I'm so bad at self-manis! This is a few days old, after having picked off the parts of polish that I got all over my skin lol!

Oh, I'm just getting into SITS. Thanks for visiting!

    1. Yes, it stinks when they are prettier in the bottle than on your nail! Thanks for visiting!
