Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick Manic - Review

I hope everyone's week is going great!

I feel like the last person on Earth, but I finally got my hands on the UD Revolution Lipstick which I talked about in my Sephora Haul earlier this week.

I waited so long to buy this lipstick because I'm not usually a big lipstick person.  I tend to stay away from lipsticks as I find them to be more high maintenance than gloss.  Gloss isn't THAT obvious when it starts fading.  Lipstick, especially darker colors, looks pretty rediculous when it fades and is more difficult to apply (you need a mirror whereas for a gloss you can pretty much re-apply blind).

I purchased the color Manic and I got the matching 24/7 lip liner.  I had originally wanted a color that was more natural/nude but I just fell in love with this color at the store.  Such a pretty wine/pink.  Urban Decay says it's a "soft wine".

First of all the packaging is GORGEOUS!  It's an almost pink tinted gunmetal package and closes very securely so there's no fear of the top popping off in your bag.

As others have stated, this lipstick is crazy pigmented.  It goes on smoothly though feels pretty dry after it's applied.  I took photos of my lips with just the liner, with the liner and lipstick, and then with a gloss on top.

I LOVE the color of this lipstick and it looks amazing with a little gloss on top!  It's fairly long-lasting for me which means about 2 hours if I'm not eating or drinking.

I'd say this lipstick is worth it but since it's almost holiday time I bet there will be more specials at Sephora or Urban Decay so maybe wait for a sale to treat yourself.  I'll probably try a nude shade if there's another sale.

Have a great day everyone!

  1. I love these lipsticks! I love how pigmented they are and the creamy texture! So far I only have samples of 69 and Anarchy. I bought Liar, but I don't like the color so I'm sending that one back. Thanks for sharing this with us!

    1. Oh, I liked the pictures of Liar but when I tried it at the store I didn't like it. I do want to try Protest but that's only available on the UD website.

I love this Manic shade though!

      Thanks for stopping by!

  2. This shade is gorgeous! I've been holding out on picking one up because of this price tag, but this has to be one of my favorite colors out of the collection. Thanks for sharing!

    1. Thanks for the comment!

Yeah, I love this color! I wore it out in public yesterday (I was mostly playing with it at home before that) and I felt so pretty with it on lol!

    1. I know, I wish they weren't so $$ either! I'd love a few more, I really need to expand my lipstick collection. I was going to check out MAC too, I hear their lippies are great too.

    2. Btw, love your blog!

I am now a follower on all of your social medias! :)

  8. UD lippies are the BOMB.COM!!! I was hesitant to buy it for its price and was so excited when Ipsy was giving it out in the July (or August???) Glam Bags! When I found out I didn't get one, I was so upset that the husband took me to Sephora and let me buy two!

Manic is absolutely beautiful! I've had my eyes on this one and hope to get it later. I had purchased Streak (coral) and Venom (dark plum). It's so beautiful and I found it to be well worth the money because I've never had such nice creamy and moisturizing lipsticks!

Thank you for sharing this with us love! xoxo

    1. LOL, the is hilarious!!

OMG, I was soooo upset also when I didn't get the little UD lipstick in that month's Ipsy bag too! I felt like EVERYONE got it but me but I guess not! What a good hubby you have! :)

I've had my eye on some bloggers's review of the color Protest but it's only available on the UD website. It's a nice nude-ish color and I think it MIGHT work w/ my coloring. Nudes are a bit difficult for me sometimes.
